About

The Tunbridge Wells Poetry Festival burst forth like water from a chalybeate spring in June 2018. Combining a wide variety of reading events and workshops from local and not-so-local writers, the event proved popular with poets and public alike.

Originally conceived and ministered by Sarah Miles of Paperswans Press the baton was passed to the current committee in 2020, only for their plans to be scuppered by Covid-19 and lockdown. Forging ahead despite the uncertainties of the “unprecedented times”, the 2021 programme offered a wide mix of online and offline events, including festival headliner Luke Wright and additional staged and open mic events at various locations in and around the town. Building on these successes the 2022 Festival promises to be even bigger and better, so watch this space!

Meanwhile, if you are interested in participating in the festival as a performer or volunteer or have a performance space you would like us to fill, the links below will point you in the right direction.
