Getting Your Poetry Out There

VENUE: The Hub, Grosvenor and Hilbert Park

This will be a practical workshop for those keen to get their poetry into print. With lots of hints and tips, Clare will run through how to get your poetry accepted in magazines, and how to be more successful when submitting for competitions. Local poet and tutor Charlie Bell will also be available for feedback and comment.

Clare Marsh began her writing career at a Kent County Council adult education class, gaining her MA in Creative Writing from the University of Kent in 2018 with a dissertation on poetry. She has run numerous workshops with and for Roundel poetry group in Tonbridge, and has enjoyed national and international success with poetry, flash fiction and short stories. Her work has been featured online and in print in a variety of journals and publications, including Mslexia, Lighthouse Literary Journal, Ink, Sweat and Tears, Places of Poetry and Rebel Talk. She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in the USA for a poem in The Binnacle (University of Maine). Clare is a great believer in ‘getting work out there’ and has been excited when work takes on a life of its own when sent out into the world.
