The love of words is universal to all poets, but what the poet chooses to do with those words provides for a very broad church indeed. Our evening event at Tunbridge Wells Forum aims to explore the versatility of words within the framework of a variety entertainment with the emphasis firmly on fun!
From Shakespeare through to the twenty-first century Twitterings of Bilston, humour and verse have played a major role in forging and capturing our cultural identity. In lyric form, as nursery rhymes and sing-a-long singles, they provide our earliest engagement with poetry, and continue to entertain us in everything from panto through to classical opera. What’s not to love?
Verse-a-Tility, then, is more than an evening of poetry. It is a celebration of words featuring sketches, monologues and songs and everything in between. We’ve special guests lined up for added value, and you, dear reader, are cordially invited to join us on stage too for the open mic section of the evening.
In addition to the Verse-a-Tility showcase the Forum will also play host to our afternoon event on the same date, Wordplay Fun Day. Full details HERE.
