Wordplay Fun Day

“Poetry Please Request Booth” with Alison Sandford McKenzie. TW Forum 2021

The Wordplay Fun Day is a free-entry family event hosted at the Tunbridge Wells Forum on Sunday June 26th from 2:00 – 5:30pm.

Promising fun for all ages, the programme will include workshops for younger poets (KS2 and 3) with Sarah Miles of Paper Swans Press, and a Wordplay “Playshop” with stories and rhymes for those taking their first steps in reading and writing. Further opportunities to combine words and art in creative and interesting ways will be provided by Cerys from Arty Farty Retreat and the CREATE Imaginarium. Sharing that creativity will be a big part of the fun, with live readings and performances as well as the interactive gallery provided by “The Wordy Washing Line”, curated by Clare Law.

While much of the above will take place in the garden (let’s hope it’s sunny!) local poets will also be out in force to keep you entertained inside the building with performance poetry and an open mic hosted by festival favourite Harry Barden, and we are delighted to welcome back Arts Without Boundaries to showcase their latest project with Charlie Bell. There will also be a panel discussion led by the festival’s own Peppy Scott, a Pop up Poetry Booth with Alison Sandford MacKenzie and a rather delightful musical interlude provided by the Tunbridge Wells Junior Harp Orchestra.

In addition to the Wordplay Fun Day, the Forum will also play host to our evening variety event, Verse-a-Tility on the same date, Full details HERE
