The Wordplay Fun Day is a free-entry family event hosted at the Tunbridge Wells Forum on August 22nd from 2:00 – 5:30pm.
Promising fun for all ages, the programme will include poetry workshops for younger poets: KS2 and KS3 students with Sarah Miles of Paper Swans Press, and a Wordplay “Playshop” with poet and children’s author Mara Bergman. Further opportunities to combine words and art in creative and interesting ways will be provided by Arty Farty’s Nell Price and the CREATE Imaginarium. Sharing that creativity will be a big part of the fun, with live readings and performances as well as the interactive gallery provided by “The Wordy Washing Line”, curated by Clare Laws.
While much of the above will take place in the garden (let’s hope it’s sunny!) local poets will also be out in force to keep you entertained inside the building with performance poetry and an open mic from the Forum’s popular Word Up! poets and discussion panels led by Sarah Salway and Natalie Thomas. You will find an overview of the day and evening events HERE, with the option of printing or downloading in pdf format for easy reference.
In addition to the Wordplay Fun Day, the Forum will also play host to our evening event on the same date, The PAM SLAM open mic. Full details HERE
